Sophomore Becca Moore’s recent hit song “Day by Day” has been on the minds of students at Badin High School recently.
“It originally started off as an assignment for therapy, but I turned it into something people wanted to hear and learn from. Put everything that was bugging me onto paper, and song”, Moore said.
Moore published the song on Nov. 15, 2021 and gives thanks to Ms. Howser and the entire Music Department for helping her accomplish this.
This is not Moore’s only song. She has several songs already written, and more to come.
Moore is excited about the future of her music and is even thinking about doing live performances.
“Definitely since I was a little girl, I was always interested in musical theatre, then grew to writing music. Just the people I’ve listened to have inspired me like Billy Joel and Taylor Swift,” Moore said.
Moore is an extremely talented singer, but that is not her only talent.
“I am learning to play piano. I am actually teaching myself. I used to play the clarinet, but stopped. I am also picking up the ukulele now too,” Moore said.
Moore didn’t just write this song for an assignment, she wrote it to spread a message.
“It's about the frustrations of being a teenager and hiding your emotions, not showing what is really going on,” Moore said.
Although the song is tremendous, no money has been made from the song yet.
This is a proud moment for Moore and the community since it is not common that someone publishes a song.
Badin is excited to have such creativity in the building and the students are inspired to do anything.
