January is right in the middle of flu season which means that people are getting sick left and right. Hot Toddies are a cold remedy that uses alcohol; but we’re minors, so this month’s recipe is a non-alcoholic Hot Toddy.
The ingredients include:
½ cup of cloudy apple juice
1 cup of water
2 cinnamon sticks
6 cloves
1 TSP grated ginger
A squeeze of lemon
The directions are as follows:
Put liquids in a pan, cover with a lid and bring to a simmering boil over medium heat.
Add the grated ginger, cloves and cinnamon and simmer with the lid on for another 5 minutes
Remove from heat and let it infuse, with lid on, for another five minutes
Strain into a mug and add a squeeze of lemon to add vitamin C
