Badin varsity football team finally ended the 22 year losing streak against Atler. Badin did so in dominating fashion winning 42-7.
Senior quarterback Zach Switzer led the team to victory after throwing for 226 yards with three passing touchdowns and had a 12 yard touchdown reception.
The approach towards this game was to come out firing.
“I’d say that we knew that we had to come out fast if we wanted to get in front of them because if they stayed in the game then the less likely we could of kept confidence for that long.”
The final score was lopsided but not expected.
“No, you never expect a game to be a blowout no matter who it is but I’m glad that it go to be them.”
Alters defense played straight up man on man.
“They were in Cover 0 (man to man) so you just have to take your shots down the field and let your guys make plays.”
This win is a pivotal game and gives a major boost to the teams confidence and attitude.
“ I think every win is a different turning point, I think that this week is a pivotal turning point week.” Switzer said, “I think that we are playing more loose now and we are confident that we can win on a consistent basis.”
Defeating Alter adds a lot of confidence to the locker room.
“Yes I think that we are playing more loose now and we are confident that we can win on a consistent basis.”
The goal for the rest of the season is now clear: “To win State.”
