As many athletes find themselves winding down as the fall season comes to a close, many take a look back on their accomplishments during the year.
The Badin cross country team is an incredible team of boys and girls who have made great strides during the 2019 season. Both boys and girls varsity teams got second in districts allowing them to qualify and run in the regionals race in Troy, Ohio.
The team has many runners who are constantly trying to do their best and really enjoy being on the team. I interviewed different members of the Cross Country Team for their comments on the season and the team.
“Running cross country gives me a sense of accomplishment and pride, especially when I run a great race,'' said senior Sam Caballero when asked about her favorite part of running cross country.
When asked about how to become a great runner, senior Kevin Spade stated, “Run with heart, find something that motivates you and use it to run and push you. It can be anything, pick someone you want to beat or a time you want to get and go after it.”
“I would definitely say the most difficult part is mile 3 of a race, just finding the strength to finish strong when the race is tough,” said senior David Strunk when asked about the most difficult part of running cross country.
It is clear that despite the hardships of running the cross country athletes are very passionate about the sport and satisfied with another great year.
