Mayhem struck the nation on August 26, 2019 when Popeyes released its own version of the classic chicken sandwich. After selling out in the first week that sandwich is back for consumers once again.

So is all the hype worth it? I believe so.

I went to Popeyes to try out the new sandwich. The line was decently long which was to be expected with the popularity of the sandwich. The line went by fairly quickly and the customer service was good.

I ordered the chicken sandwich, which is a fried chicken fillet with pickles and your choice of spicy or regular mayonnaise. Let’s just say I was not let down.

The bun was slightly sweet and had a perfectly soft texture that paired great with the crunchy batter of the chicken. The pickles and mayonnaise add just the right amount of flavor to make it the perfect combination.

Priced at around $3, the sandwich is in about the same price range as sandwiches from competing companies.

Overall I would say that I favor Popeyes chicken sandwich over Chick fil a, I think the chicken had better crunch and the addition of mayonnaise really added a good flavor.

All chicken lovers should really give this sandwich a try.
