What is the world doing without spring sports?

By Colby Stolph

Most would admit, one of the toughest things right now that the Coronavirus has taken from us is sports.

Sports bring enjoyment, help with boredom and overall give many people around the world something to watch.

But what are we all doing while we are sitting home and quarantined without sports?

ESPN, Sports Center and many other big sports networks are playing reruns for their fans. Not great, but it’s better than nothing. This time of boredom really proposes a lot of problems, and one is finding something to do.

Being able to sit down and watch a basketball game would just be too good to be true, but watching a classic beats a blank.

Spring sport athletes are also scratching their heads. If they can’t watch their sport, might as well play it, right? Sadly that isn’t an option, as many high school spring sports like baseball and volleyball are suspended till further notice.

Fall sports might even be postponed if the virus is still peaking into summer and going into the following school year, as no athletes seem to be able to take the field anytime soon.

For now, it looks like the only sports anyone will see will be in the backyard or in the household. With this being said, reruns and other flashbacks have brought back some of the greatest moments in sports history, like Kobe’s last game and the Cubs comeback win in the World Series a few years back.

It is safe to say, everyone is awaiting the return of sports. Preferably first though, the return of the normal world.
