St. Patrick’s Day is a fun holiday, but it isn’t being celebrated as much as other holidays. However, for some students it's a family tradition to celebrate the green festivities with their families and friends.
Many students have traditions that they enjoy celebrating with family.
“I enjoy going with family to the cemetery singing songs, saying a prayer, and then having a Saint Patrick’s Day party,” sophomore Rebekah Snyder said.
Some people like to remember fun experiences they’ve had in the past for St. Patrick’s Day.
“In 2018 we went to an Irish pub and there were Irish dancers and a big celebration,” junior Issy Helton said.
Other students like eating candy and sweets for the holiday.
“I like to get Shamrock Shakes and make cookies,” sophomore Hannah Ballinger said.
St. Patrick’s Day can be a busy holiday because it falls on a weekday, so many students can’t celebrate.
“My plans are to go to school, then track practice, then volleyball practice, then homework, and then if I have time left over something fun,” sophomore Katie Hiernaux said.
Overall, a lot of people have fun St. Patrick’s Day traditions planned, but it can be a busy time, so it can be hard to find time to celebrate. For some it is just a holiday, but for others it's a action packed day of fun and luck!
