Seniors start strong

Badin varsity basketball is doing extremely well this year. They’re sitting at 10-4 and tied for second in the GCL.

Badin is led by their starting five, who are all seniors this year. The starting five includes: Josh Hegemann, Donovan Watkins, Spencer Giesting, Alex DeLong and Zach Switzer.

“We have the team to make it the distance this year, we just need to keep putting in the work at practice and keep getting better everyday,” Zach Switzer said.

Led by Coach Weisgerber Badin is looking to win the GCL and make it far into the tournament this year.

“This is most of the seniors' last year ever of playing basketball, every minute we’re on the court we have to get better and better,” Donovan Watkins said.

Varsity has two upcoming games on their schedule, against Purcell Marian and Talawanda. It should be two easy victories for the Rams, but we can’t take them lightly.

Badin’ssitting in a great spot in the GCL, they’re tied for second, which means they’re looking at a 2-seed as of right now.

“We need to play smart, play hard, and play together to be successful this year,” Coach Weisgerber said.

Badin hopes to have as much success in the second half of the season as they did in the first half of the season. “If we are able to play like we can to full extent and put in the effort every minute we are on the floor we will win State this year,” Weisgerber said.

Badin has a great class for basketball this year, and they’re taking advantage of it. It will be exciting to see the outcome of the Badin Rams 2019-2020 season.
