Mr. Shamp, 2010 alumni, likes the support of the Badin community.
Shamp feels like everyone is very welcoming, and everyone helps and supports each other.
“Students and teachers are both very supportive here, and they always make sure that everyone is doing well,” Shamp said.
Shamp thinks that the community and support is very similar to when he was a student here.
“We have a lot of the same teachers, and they were very supportive when I decided to come back to teach,” Shamp said.
Shamp said that there have been some changes in technology and in the uniform from when he attended the school.
“We didn’t have iPads. There are a lot more choices in electives now, and we were allowed to wear hoodies with our uniforms,” Shamp stated.
As a student, Shamp was both involved in clubs and was involved in sports.
“I played football and I did track and field Senior year. I was also in the History Club and involved with DECA,” Shamp said.
Shamp always knew that he wanted to teach at Badin, but he didn’t expect to get the opportunity so soon.
“Badin offered me a job first, and I was lucky because a job opened up,” Shamp said.
Shamp was glad to be able to have the opportunity to teach at Badin because he appreciates the community and support.
