How many energy drinks do you consume a week? One? Two? Maybe even three? Senior Mikey Madden has drank four a week for several years!

Madden is a so-called expert on energy drinks and he has some preferences.

"My favorite energy drink is Monster Zero Sugar. It has that sweet taste that I just can’t get enough of,” Madden said.

Monster Energy has about 140 mg of caffeine which is equivalent to almost two cups of coffee.

Madden doesn’t just drink Monsters, however, he also enjoys Bang energy drinks and Reign energy drinks. They both contain 300 mg of caffeine and maybe other chemicals to keep you moving.

Madden wants others to enjoy energy drinks and he has some recommendations for beginners.

“I would recommend Reign Orange Dreamsicle which has 300 mg of caffeine. Monster Juice Pacific Punch and Bang Cotton Candy," Madden said.

They are all well known products and flavors in the energy drink world.

Madden drinking energy drinks is no recent thing, he has been drinking them for his entire high school career.

“I remember the first time I ever had one, I took a sip and it lit up my world, when I first started out drinking them it made me very energized and it motivated me to do work," Madden said.

These great effects of energy can wear off overtime now and he has to drink a few just to get that same energized feeling.
