Valentine's Day traditions

By Gracie Combs

Valentine’s Day? A national holiday where we have parties and give candy hearts to each person in our class. But now that those days are sadly over, let's see what has changed since then.

Now that we are a little older, the holiday has completely changed. Lots of people have their own opinions on the holiday and how to spend it.

“My husband and I don’t do anything special. We just treat it as a normal day,” Mrs. Mac said.

Most couples tend to take the day to an extreme, such as buying a dozen red roses to giant stuffed bears. However, most tend to keep the day simple and on the low key side. For example, most just eat dinner together and enjoy each other’s company.

Though spending time with your significant other is everyone’s wish, some students at Badin spend time with their family or friends.

“My family and I go to White Castle and have dinner there, it’s a lot of fun,” sophomore Sarah Enderle said.

Most of the student body would rather not hang out with family and would rather hang out with friends by watching movies or giving small presents to each other.

People will also take holiday to binge watch rom-coms while eating chocolate or their own treats, alone. No matter how you celebrate the holiday, it's still a fun and exciting day.
