Adopt-A-Senior

All over the world, Seniors are missing out on their normal end of year festivities such as Prom and Graduation. In order to brighten their spirits, many schools have started an “Adopt Senior” program. To “adopt” a Senior means to send them something to make their day better. This can include a letter, card, gift, gift card, snacks, or anything else! The idea is to shower a Senior you know with love during this hard time.

Leslie Anzalone, mother of senior Rocky Anzalone, started Badin’s Adopt-A-Senior Facebook group. Parents of Badin Seniors can post about their child, describing them and their accomplishments at Badin. Then, people who wish to adopt that Senior will comment on the post. Parents can invite anyone they want to the group, which currently has almost 300 members. Seniors can even be adopted by more than one person- the more the merrier!

As of May 14, the seniors that have been adopted are: Rocky Anzalone, Paige Parrish, Monica Harris, Andrea Mackenzie, Leah Ross, Colin Crank, Makenna Holian, Cade Boxrucker, Evie Wurzelbacher, Jake Rosser, Jackson Enderle, Emma Adams, Shelby Nusbaum, Donovan Watkins, Zack Schuster, Kennedy Wissman, Caitlyn Conrad, Ben Strunk, Laney Cosgrove, Ethan Brovey, Mickayla Kowalski, Kaitlyn Robinson, Isabel Ely, Emma Wesner, Mikey Madden, Andy Moore, Katie Ropka, Jaelynn Scowden, Lauren Barnhorn, Elise Noelker, Kate Dwyer, Hannah Werner, Tess Barreto, Hannah Hartman, Alex DeLong, Max Jorgensen, David Strunk, Zach Switzer, Scott Day, Josh Hegemann, Spencer Giesting, Jackson Long, Ellie Klaiber, Emily Sauer, Jada Lucas, Brode Gibson, Jackson Bryan, Adam Salek, Noah Sackenheim, Will Giffen, Sophie Tischler, AJ Rowland, Sydney Rawlings, Claire MacGowan, Gabi Reising, Caroline Castrucci, Emma Mainwaring, Jill Smith, Emma Fritsch, Kenny Couch, Kevin Spade, Lizzie Middendorf, Maddie Mills, Meghan Vidourek, Emari Smiley, Keegan Gormley, Joey Specht, Adam Clements, Anna LePere, Alex Barger, Damian Haussler, and Logan Norvell.

This still leaves about half of the senior class that hasn’t been adopted yet. If you know a senior that hasn’t been adopted yet, show them some love!!
