Local food review: True West

True West is a popular coffee shop in Hamilton that many Badin students visit. It is a great place to study, hang out with friends and grab a quick bite to eat.

True West has two locations in Hamilton, one on Main Street and one Downtown on High Street. The coffee shop is open everyday of the week and is a great place to stop and spend time or grab a quick drink at the drive-thru.

This week after school I went with a couple friends to try out a sandwich and a drink.

With a wide variety of sandwiches and salads on the menu, it is hard to choose. I got The George Bailey, a sandwich with turkey, avocado, bacon, provolone and a delicious chipotle mayo. The sandwich was a great after school snack to split with a friend. It also comes with a bag of chips or an apple. Most sandwiches and salads average around $7.00, a good price for the size and quality of the sandwich.

To go with my sandwich, I got a peach blossom iced tea. This was refreshing and had great flavor. My tea was 12oz and $1.75, one of the cheaper drinks.

True West is known for their coffee, which I’ve always heard great things about, but I am not much of a coffee drinker myself. The coffee drinks average $3.00.

Overall the atmosphere, food and drinks at True West make it the perfect place to hang out after a long day at school.
