The 18 rated game by Activision, has featured a Favela level in most of their games since 2009.
It does an extremely good job of representing the challenges face by the Police when trying to clear favelas of Gangs or search for criminals.
The drug and gang problem inside the Favelas was one not dealt with for a long time, mainly because the favelas were not a legal settlement. Their attitude was why should they risk the lives of their police offers for an area which does not contribute to the cities economy.
When they were awarded the honour of hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2014 and Olympic Games in 2016, the eyes of the world would now be on their city. Something had to be done but it was not going to be easy...
