In chemistry, it is difficult for students to collect evidence and make direct observations of phenomena. Experience a sensemaking chemistry lesson in which pedagogical tools are used to mediate between experimental results and models. The high school example lesson is situated within Standard CHEM.1.1 and the middle school example lesson is situated within Standard 8.1.5.

Come check out a collaborative instructional tool where students participate in “missions” built around current UT SEEd standards for 7th and 8th grade and some 9-12. The missions not only assess students' content knowledge after instruction but also skills and dispositions.
