We're now on Age of Contact (Unit 3)
What's the purpose of social studies?
Social studies is like an adventure! It's a travel show. It helps us learn about history, government, geography, and cultures. But that’s not all!
It also helps us think about important topics and teaches us to understand how others feel (empathy!).
By studying these things, we learn how to be good citizens and better understand ourselves and the world we live in.
Fun, right? Let's dive in!
Congrats to Abigail Flores
She won the 2025 Texas History Day Special Award for
outstanding research in animal welfare.
