Teaching of reading in Caldicotes

The Caldi Reading Vending Machine

Every time a child accumulates 25 'reads' at home with their reading for pleasure book, phonic book or using the online Lexia or Reading Plus resources, they are then rewarded with a visit the vending machine to choose a book to keep and take home.

We are very lucky to have our 'Caldi Coach' as our base for our 'home reading for pleasure' resources, where children visit and select their choice of book to read for pleasure at home. 

Our double decker bus has been wonderfully repurposed as a place for children to be able to access reading at playtimes and lunchtimes along with engaging  with other aspects of our curriculum too as part of learning time.
