PE at Caldicotes

From  September 2023, we follow the PE and sports scheme; Complete PE

Complete P.E. is an interactive Physical Education resource designed to support the implementation of a High Quality Physical Education Curriculum from Early Years to Y6.

We use the units of work which include videos, resource cards and information to ensure the safety of all when taking part, covering all areas of the Physical Education National Curriculum for EYFS, KS1 and KS2, with transition units available to bridge the gaps into KS3 but than can be used for challenge and variety.

Using this resource ensures that our non-specialist practitioners feel confident to enjoy teaching PE and can support all our children, including the most talented, to find their remarkable.

Pupils have PE for 2 hours per week.

Years 3 and 5 children go swimming for 20 sessions per year. There is a catch up programme for any year 6 children who still need to achieve their 25m.

NB: EYFS follow the Physical Development aspect of the Development Matters in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This is non-statutory guidance material which supports practitioners in implementing the statutory requirements of the EYFS.

Sports Partnership

We link with Middlesbrough Schools Sports Partnership to provide opportunities for our talented children and those who are enthusiastic participants, to engage in competitions and tournaments across the year.

Some competitions and tournaments lead to representation at a regional level.

Caldicotes children proudly wear the PE kits or Sports kits provided by school, to the competitions.
