KS2 

Years: 3,4,5&6

Key Stage 2 provision comprises 4 classes: Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6.  The staff in KS2 collaborate in phase teams: Y3&4 and Y5&6 plan, prepare and develop our provision together.  This maximises our opportunities to make our curriculum offer immersive, inclusive and inspirational.  We continue to support our children's learning through our progressive continuous provision offer. 

Our KS2 Leader is Assistant Vice-Principal, Mrs Thompson.

Our Year 3  provision, led by Mrs Hallet and supported in class by Mrs Herman, provides  the first step into Key Stage 2 curriculum provision for our children.  

The Year 3 team support , challenge and secure the children's learning from Key Stage 1 to successfully engage with new aspects of the Year 3&4 curriculum content.  

Our Y3 children continue to access continuous provision areas to support and embed learning and develop skills; communication, independence, collaboration, self-regulation, problem solving, building upon their experiences from Year 2.

To build upon the foundations of learning the children secure in Key Stage 1, Year 3 and 4 work together, to ensure successful transition of learning from key Stage 1 to 2 in the National Curriculum.

Mrs Devine, with support from Miss Cook provides  the progressive step from Year 3 to Year 4.   

The Year 4 team support , challenge and secure the children's learning from Key Stage 1 & Year 3 to successfully engage with new aspects of the Year 3&4 curriculum content.  

Our Y4 children continue to access continuous provision areas to support and embed learning and develop skills; communication, independence, collaboration, self-regulation, problem solving, building upon their experiences from Year 3.

Mr Lindo and Miss Draffan on return from her maternity leave,  with support from Mrs White & Miss Serplus, provides  the next progressive step from  lower Key Stage 2 to Upper Key Stage 2 into Year 5.    

The Year 5 team support , challenge and secure the children's learning from Year 4 to successfully engage with new aspects of the Year 5&6 curriculum content.  

Our Y5 children begin to develop the skills and techniques they will apply when they undertake assessments in Y6.

To build upon the foundations of learning the children secure in Year 3 & 4 and to prepare them for the challenges of standardised tests along with transition to Year 7, the Year 5 & 6 classes work together.

We have a strong team in Year 6, led by Mrs Thompson, to ensure we are targeting our children with the most appropriate support in order for them to find their remarkable.  Mrs Hutchinson, Miss Serplus, Miss White and Mrs Harrison along with members of the Key Stage 2 team ensure the children access learning linked to assessments and next steps in learning, preparing the children to successfully engage with the standarised end of Key Stage tests in May.
