B- or above in Pre-Calculus or equivalent.
AP Calculus BC is an advanced-level mathematics course designed for students who are ready to explore a deeper understanding of calculus concepts and who are interested in pursuing careers in STEM fields. This semester-long course will cover all topics required by the College Board for the AP Calculus BC exam, providing students with a rigorous and comprehensive foundation in differential and integral calculus leading to the AP Calculus BC Examination in May.
Students will build upon their knowledge of calculus by studying the concepts of limits, derivatives, integrals, and series. Specific topics include parametric, polar, and vector functions, as well as techniques of integration, applications of derivatives and integrals, and sequences and series (including Taylor and Maclaurin series). The course emphasizes problem-solving, mathematical reasoning, and real-world applications of calculus in various fields such as physics, economics, and engineering.
