Students who have successfully completed or are currently enrolled in the face to face Algebra 1 or face to face Geometry with Algebraic Topics Regular courses meeting the following enrollment prerequisites:
Student performance in the first quarter of the current face-to-face course will be evaluated with an emphasis on Quarter 1 assessments. Students are expected to perform B and above to be considered for any of the math online courses.
Teacher’s recommendation.
Counselor’s input to ensure alignment with the student’s academic path.
This course is a study of topics in Geometry with Algebra. Topics in Geometry include: angles, parallel lines, triangles, quadrilaterals, polygons, circles, areas and volume. Algebraic topics include: algebraic expressions, factoring, rational expressions, linear & quadratic equations, systems of non-linear equations, graphing in the coordinate plane, right angle and non-right angle trigonometry. Algebraic skills will be incorporated in all topics of Geometry. Topics similar to Geometry with Algebraic Topics are extended. Hence, the course involves more challenging problem-solving.
*To be eligible for the face-to-face Algebra 2 & Trigonometry Honors course, students must complete this virtual course with a grade of B—and above AND must also take a placement test and achieve a grade of B—or above.
