Why should you eat this?
is mochi a carb? Yes it is, Karen. And that carb, would give you enough energy to kick start your day. And hey, it tastes really good.
i'll let you in on something. its gluten free, and vegetarian!
Ingredients (serves 3):
1 cup glutinous rice flour
1 cup water
honey
kinako/matcha powder
Mix glutinous rice flour and water in a microwave-safe bowl and mix until batter is smooth.
Cover the bowl with cling wrap and microwave it for 3 mins.
After 3 mins, the batter should have turned into mochi. Stir the mochi vigorously so that you will end up with a chewy texture. Scoop out your mochi and coat it with cornstarch so that it doesn't stick. Cut it into bite size pieces.
If you want cold mochi, refrigerate your mochi before serving. When serving, drizzle 1 tbsp of honey for one portion of mochi and sprinkle some kinako/ matcha powder on top.(optional)
