Literacy
We will focus on being able to describe/retell an event or story, and sing familiar rhymes/songs.
We will also be encouraging the children to write their own names
Our books home will be The Gingerbread Man and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Numeracy
We will continue building on our knowledge of counting and number recognition.
We will be exploring the passing of time, days of the week, months and seasons.
HWB
We will focus on relationships (RSHP) and social wellbeing.
The children will still be participating in the RAD sessions every Thursday.
We will also have an Outdoor Learning Session with Mr. Miller.
RME
This term we will be thinking about our own and others traditions, beliefs and values. We will also be exploring Christianity.
Cross Curricular
This term it is the Showtime topic! We will be experiencing energy and excitement for presenting/performing for audiences and also being part of an audience. We will discuss our thoughts and feelings and give constructive comments about our own and others work.
Literacy
We will focus on Diaries and what we have done over the summer holidays. We will also be focusing on listening and talking to each other. Learning each other's names and recognising our own name.
Our book home will be the Three Billy Goats Gruff
Numeracy
We will focus on 2D and 3D shape, patterns and relationships . This will be explored and developed through our play.
HWB
We will focus on mental health and wellbeing and our emotions. We will be working on developing our growth mindset and building resilience in all aspects of our learning
Groups of children are also participating in sessions provided by the Russel Anderson Foundation every Thursday.
We will also have an Outdoor Learning Session with Mr. Miller.
Science
We will focus on Planet Earth and biodiversity and interdependence. We will specifically looking at birds and working with our buddy class to provide a bird house where we can observe the birds all year.
Cross Curricular
Our first topic this term is Caring Citizens which gives us an opportunity to get to know each other, our learning styles, needs, abilities, work on making friendships, along with building and creating structures, routines and our UNCRC Class Charters.
We will then move onto Historical where we will be looking at ourselves as babies. We will then be looking at and comparing present day and the past for babies and transport.
