Good afternoon,
We have recently been made aware that some parents are not receiving notifications when an Xpressions message has been sent. We have raised this issue with Groupcall and they have advised the following:
If messages are showing within the Xpressions app but the notifications aren't coming up to flag receipt, the most likely issue is that the recipient's device is suppressing notifications. This can be done in more than one place on the phone handset.
Firstly, in the Xpressions app you should ensure that the option "Silence Xpressions Notifications" within the Settings menu at the top-left is turned off.
Secondly, there are a couple of places notifications can be suppressed on a handset's main settings; for an Android device you will need to go into Settings > Apps > Xpressions and then under both Notifications and Permissions ensure all options for notifications are turned on. You will also need to go to Settings > Notifications and ensure that under both App Notifications and Device And App Notifications the Xpressions app is allowed.
Information on where these options are located on an iPhone should be broadly the same.
If you are still experiencing problems following the above instructions, then please contact the school office to advise.
Kind regards
