We completed our spring MAP testing in reading and math this week. Each student met with me to discuss their fall score and their spring goal. After they finished the test, we discussed their scores and tracked their progress. They brought home a copy of their fall scores with their new spring scores written on it for you to see their progress as well!

We began Chapter 10: Decimals.
4th grade is the first time students are exposed to decimal numbers. They will learn to read, write, and compare decimals in the tenths and hundredths place. We wrapped up our unit on electricity, heat, and light energy this week. Students learned how solar towers in the desert generate eneregy from sunlight and water. It's a really cool process that I honestly had no idea was happening in our country! Ask your chid to sketch out a model and explain how this process works and what they learned in this unit.
