Happy Spring Break! Whether you are traveling or sticking around town, I hope this next week gives your family time recharge and reconnect. Enjoy the time off from school before the final push to the end of the year.

There is no homework over break, but your child has a yellow paper with a "Spring Break Reading Challenge" they may choose to complete. This optional assignment is due Tuesday, April 14th.

In Chapter 11 we will be learning to recognize, use, and covert units of measurement. Students will become familiar with the following units:
Metric Length- millimeter, centimeter, meter, kilometer
Metric Mass- gram, kilogram
Metric Capacity- liter, milliliter
Customary Length- inch, foot, yard, mile
Customary Weight- ounce, pound, ton
Customary Capacity- fluid ounce, cup, pint, quart, gallon

This week we took a "tour" of the Southwest region. Students used maps to identify important geographic and human features of this region. We learned how geography and history shape this region and "visited" important landmarks like the Alamo, Carlsbad Caverns, and the Grand Canyon.
