Our class holiday party will be Friday, December 19 from 9:45-10:40 AM. We will have a "build your own waffle bar" along with 3 game stations and a craft station for the kids to enjoy with their friends.
Thank you to everyone who already signed up to help out. I still need a few supplies and 2 more volunteers!
Click here to sign up to donate supplies or volunteer to run a game or craft during the party.
A friendly reminder: no more than 2 adult guests per child at the party and no siblings please. Thank you for understanding that we have limited space in our room and want the kids to have space to move around and have fun at their party!
Click here to RSVP for our party so I know which adults will be in attendance.
No spelling this week! Our ELA program runs in 2-week cycles, and we're taking a week off rather than splitting a unit before & after the break.
Math homework next week looks a bit different. The class really needs practice with long division, so I have them doing 2 long division problems a night. I taught them the acronym "Does McDonalds Sell Cheese Burgers" to remember the steps. Click here for a video showing you the way we've done it in class.
Click here for the homework due December 19.
We began our research for our Wax Museum projects this week. We'll write our reports and speeches after break. Wax Museum presentations will be the week of January 26-30. More info to come!
In the meantime, you can begin thinking about your child's costume for the Wax Museum. You do not need to buy a costume! Students often select items from their closet or borrow from siblings/friends/parents to wear something representative of their person. Props are fine, but students may not "hand out" any items to Wax Museum guests (ex: Milton Hershey can't hand out candy...sorry!)
Report cards will be sent electronically through School Messenger by the end of the day December 19th. Please send me an email if you do not receive your child's report card!
This week we've muddled our way through long division. This is always the trickiest skill for kids to master in 4th grade, and this year has been no different. As a class, we all need more practice!

We began research for our Wax Museum project this week. Ask your child to share something interesting they've learned about the famous person they are researching.
As we've been studying the regions of the United States, our class has been participating in a postcard exchange. We are sending and receiving postcards with schools in each of the 50 states. As we learn about the states, we read the postcard we received to gain more firsthand knowledge of what it's like to live in that place. This week we wrote our postcard from Michigan to send to the other schools.
