Thank you to everyone who has already contributed supplies to our classroom! I could still use some more of the following items:
Post It notes- regular 3x3 name brand please! We use these to answer our "Question of the Day" and they need to stick to the wall. Other brands always fall off.
Pencil top erasers - Just basic ones like these You can often find them at the dollar store.
We finished Chapter 2: Addition & Subtraction and took a test on Friday. Look for these tests to be returned and come home early next week so you can see your child's scores.
Next week we begin Chapter 3: One-Digit Multiplication. Click here to see what is taught in this chapter and how you can support your child at home.
Here's what we learned this week:
Essential Question: How do your actions affect others?
Reading Strategy: Make Predictions
Reading Skills: Plot, Conflict, Author's Claim
Vocabulary Skill: Idioms
We kicked off our social studies curriculum by learning about the 4 social sciences: History, Geography, Economics, and Political Science. Students learned how social scientists study the way people live in groups. They use artifacts from the past and present to learn how people live. We enjoyed sharing our artifacts with each other on Friday.
