Take some time this week to install the materials in your student's Think Energy kit. Please take a minute to complete the Home Energy Worksheet and return it by Friday 3/20. Our classroom recieves a grant from participating in this program, so your participation in this brief survey helps provide materials for the classroom.
Our field trip will be March 30th. Click here for the information letter that was sent home. Parent chaperones- remember to send in your $8 payment by FRIDAY!
1 more week to finish books toward our building goal of 1,000 books. Read, read, read!
On Thursday, 3 of our classmates in the Link program, Hazel, Lilly G, and Mack, participated in the Special Olympics Unified Basketball game with our friends Merritt, Kam, Neveah, Sam, and Ozzy from Mrs. Shipley's class. The whole class joined with many other students from Lee and Page to cheer them on.

Next week we'll start learning about decimals. 4th grade is the first time students are exposed to decimal numbers. We learned about electricity this week. Students learned how electricity flows through a circuit. In our Think Energy lesson, we even got to use our bodies to make a human circuit! This led to great conversations about how our bodies can conduct electricity, so that is why we need to be safe around electricity. In class, we used Snap Circuits to power lightbulbs, motors, and fans that flew into the air! Students learned about series and parallel circuits. The kids loved this lesson! We may have some future electricians in this group. (Don't be surprised if your student asks you to buy them Snap Circuits to play with at home. I highly reccomend them!)
