Portal
Step 1:
A) create Parent Operation:
set the Operation Type to: “Execution Group”
B) set the following:
Display Group: the Display Group is the menu group the Operation will appear under. This automatically sets the Parent Operation name after the Operation is created and not specified.
add the Dashboard { } property into the Properties settings and input columns as needed for each Child Operation
Note: Dashboard {} property can be set using columns formatting. Setting a Display Order property for each Child Operation, will place the Operations in a specific order desired to be displayed inside the Dashboard {} property.
C) set the following:
JSP File setting to: EG: Portal (Execution Group)
D) save the Operation
click on the Insert Operation button at the top once all above steps have been completed and any additional settings desired.
Step 2:
A) create Child Operation
Note: Repeat these Child Operation steps for any additional Child Operations needed.
set the Operation Type to: SQL
Note: If you don’t set a Title for the Operation, it will display as Null when the Application is being ran.
B) set the following properties:
Display Rule to: “Hide”. This setting hides the Operation from the end user. Setting this to “None” will allow the Operation to be seen. Setting this to “Hide” allows the Parent Operation to display this through the Portal view and setting the Display Group.
Display Group: points to Parent Operation (or any operation that is going to be displaying all Operations)
C) set the following properties:
Parent Operation: property to point to the Parent Operation (where the Operation Type is set to “Execution Group”)
Usage ID: this is used when you want to give the Child Operations a sequence in which they show up. The lower number is placed before any higher numbers. These numbers set in the Usage ID is used in the Dashboard { } property. The black arrow points to the manual input textbox if the desired choice is not in the dropdown listbox. (see Dashboard { } property from Parent Operation)
D) save Operation
click on the Insert Operation button at the top once all above steps have been completed and any additional settings desired.
example: setting the Dashboard { } property in the Parent Operation after all Child Operation Usage ID’s are set.
Departments Usage ID: 6
Staff Usage ID: 7
Employees Usage ID: 8
Sales Usage ID: 9
Note: Examples below are of the Application being ran when all Operations are done being created.
Note: When the Staff Operation is opened.
