How to Set Up Dashboard
This feature requires the add-on product WOWFusion Charts.
First, you will want to create a new Application or go into an existing Application where you want the Dashboard 2x2 or 3x3 to be set up in.
Next, click on the Wizard button in the Operation Manager.
Note: The existing Dashboard 2x2 Operation in this example image shows four child template operations that were created. This sample will show the 3x3 Dashboard setup in a step by step process. It will also show the nine template operations that automatically get created when choosing the 3x3 Dashboard.
example: step 1
After clicking on the Wizard button, it will display the Wizards available to choose from. Find the one you wish to choose and click on the Execute button. Here in this example, we are choosing the Dashboard 3x3.
example: step 2
After clicking on the Execute button, it takes you right into the Execution Group (Parent) Operation that holds all the children operations. Now you will want to click the Insert button. Then this will bring you back to the Wizard home page (shown in example: step 3). Here you can just click on the Application button at the top and go into the Application you created or chose to house the Dashboard Operations.
example: step 3
Once you are in the Application that houses the Dashboard, you will see all child operations below the Parent and indented to specify they are children of that Parent above it. (see example: step 4).
The Parent Operation will be highlighted in red, this only specifies this is the LAST Operation that was edited and or created. This feature helps so that you don’t forget where you were last. This also applies to last Application you were in doing any editing as well.
example: step 4 (9 children ops. displayed)
The Parent Operation will also automatically create the columns as well as Usage ID’s for each child to set them up in an order. From this Order, you can set up your Operations as desired (see example: columns created).
An easy way to ensure you are editing the Operation you wish to, is by running the Application, then clicking on the Operation icon from there. This will ensure you have the Operation in the spot you want it to be in (see example: edit Operations 1 & 2).
example: columns created (Parent Operation - Display settings)
example: edit Operations 1
example: edit Operations 2
In example: edit Operations 2, I have changed the Titles of the Operations to see clearly all nine child operations and have rows to display set to only three rows so that it fits in one page view. Notice they have the Previous|Next links to go back and forth between other rows if details not being displayed. There also is the
icon to go right into the Operation for editing. This is an easier way to ensure you are editing the Operation you want, in that specific spot.
All the functionality of each Operation is still available, but in a much smaller space to fit the number of Operations according to each Dashboard chosen.
In this next set of example images, you will notice what happens if I display more than a few columns for each Operation.
example: 1
example: 1 (continued)
As you can see in the example: 2, all Operations are visible still on one page view, just not the rest of the two operations with multiple fields. The scroll-bar is there to view the rest of the info as well.
