Data Security
Data security is very important to XCD especially when it comes to Payroll data. We have standard controls over who can access which data to limit the possibility of data being seen by people who are not entitled to see it.
As standard, the settings below are used for XCD Payroll. Note your data settings may be configured differently than displayed here, but will follow a similar pattern.
Profiles and Permissions
For a standard payroll the entire Payroll and its associated data are visible to the Payroll Administrator profile and to the others also who may have been given access.
A company may run a secure Payroll, whose data are not visible to the Payroll Administrator profile and are visible only to the Payroll Manager.
Secure Payroll
In order to run a secure Payroll, you should create a separate Payroll (see Getting Started) and select Eligible employees as “Secure”
On the Payroll record, click “Edit”
Select “Secure” from the Eligible employees dropdown
Click “Save”
This will mean that secure Employees will be assigned to this Payroll, which will only be visible to the Payroll Manager.
Assign Employee to Secure Payroll
In order to put an employee in the secure category.
From the Employee detail page, click on the Reward tab.
From the reward page, click on the relevant Compensation record’s name.
This will take you to the Compensation page
Click “Edit”
Select “Secure” for the Payroll eligibility field.
Click “Save”
