What if Mr. Mandeville became the High School Principal?
Braylee W. & Alyssa E.
Can Mr. Mandeville be the Monroeville High School’s Principal? The answer is yes; Mr. Mandeville can be the principal because he knows how to handle kids and give them discipline. He has been teaching at the school for 11 years. People had to vote on either him or Mr. Lill. Mr. Kaczor thinks it is time for him to retire because he has been their for a long time. Many people picked Mr. Mandeville because he shoes horses for a living, and he knows how to treat people with respect.
One day, Mr. Mandeville thought to himself, “What would it be like if I was the Monroeville High School Principal.” Mr. Kaczor will be retiring on April 10th, 2017. Every Monday he serves mangos, Tuesday he serves tacos, Wednesday he serves watermelon, Thursday he serves tom yum and Friday he serves frozen broccoli. Tom Yum is the best seller out of all of them. People say it’s weird, but it is good.
Mr. Mandeville states, “My tom yum Soup is very good. My wife and I make it every Sunday and serve it to the students in science class. My fish sauce goes with it very well.” Overall Mr. Mandeville is very talented because he can cook, shoe horses, teach, and be a great principal. When Mr. Mandeville was young, he played basketball, football, volleyball, and golf. He enjoyed eating chicken and waffles. In his free time, he would watch Titanic, which was his favorite movie.
Mr. Kaczor explained, “I believe Mr. Mandeville would be a great principal because he can deal with kids. When I retire, I will be sitting at home, eating potato chips and playing video games.”
Students also want him to be the principal so he can serve them all of his tom yum that his wife makes. He will bring back recess and take us on field trips once a week. He has his own shoeing business called “Mandeville’s Horseshoe”.
Kadon M. stated, “Mr. Mandeville is a cool man. His soup is so good, and he knows how to make people laugh, and his forearms are huge!”
As you can see, Mr. Mandeville would be a great principal because of his talents and his awesome soup.

Monkeys Go Bananas!
Kylee B. & Lily S.
Watch Out! Monkeys are on the loose from the Toledo Zoo. If anyone sees them, run away and call (419)-504-7682. Monkeys are stealing bananas from everywhere from grocery stores to homes. If people like bananas, hide them, and whatever people do, do not give the monkeys bananas, or they will go crazy for more.
The monkeys from the zoo got out by jumping from tree to tree and doing backflips over the gates. People thought at first that they did not like the food they were being fed, and they just wanted more bananas. When people did further investigation, they realized the monkeys saw that humans were eating the bananas that the monkeys were suppose to be eating. The monkeys went bananas for the bananas.
According to Bill Williams, a monkey scientist, said, “I have no idea why these monkeys are going crazy. I’m not the best scientist, so don’t ask me.”
Steve Jones, a zoologist, explained, “I know why these monkeys are going crazy. It’s because they have a disease called Need-a-Bananaosis.”
Need-a-Bananaosis is when a monkey needs a banana and will do anything and everything to get one. It can be very contagious, so it can spread from one monkey to another very easily. Only monkeys can get it so that’s good for us humans. Need-a-Bananaosis will go away after someone feeds the monkey a tomato. The tomato gets rid of the disease by getting rid of all of the banana taste in the monkey’s mouth.
If anyone sees these monkeys please give them a tomato, and call the Toledo Zoo.

The Ponkey's Problems
Lydia L. & Melana A.
On April 1st, 2017, there was a mysterious creature spotted at the Columbus Zoo. It looked like two different animals mixed together! A ponkey is a parrot and donkey mixed together.
Mr. George, the zoo keeper, is the one who spotted it. He first spotted the ponkey in the lion cage; that's when he started to chase it. After about two hours, he finally caught it near the polar bears.
When he caught the ponkey, he went to put it in a cage, but there was no open cage to put it in. Mr. George had to figure out where to keep it. After looking, he found a cardboard box to put it in. Then he decided to put it in the box and tape it up, but, he put some holes in it so the ponkey had some air. Once Mr. George locked everything up, he went to get in his car to head home and get some rest.
The next day Mr. George went back to the Columbus Zoo and when he walked in the zoo, his jaw dropped. He noticed that the zoo was a mess. All of the animals were out of their cages. He went to find a phone to call the animal control. When they answered the phone he said, “I need serious help. All of the animals got out of their cages last night because of the new animal named the ponkey.” The animal control people said they were on their way.
Once they arrived, they ended up getting every single animal back in their cages. The animal control stopped and asked, “What is a ponkey?”
“Oh, it is a new animal, it just happens to be a parrot and a donkey mixed.” After the animal control left, Mr. George found the ponkey and put it in a real cage this time, so it wouldn't escape again.
Overall, Mr. George was calm and happy that everything was back to normal.
The Baking Adventures of Mrs. Goodwin
Zenna B. & Olivia S.
Did anyone know that there is a baker at Monroeville Schools? She loves to bake, but it doesn’t always turn out right. On April 1, 2017, Mrs. Goodwin, the art teacher and secret baker at Monroeville Elementary, was baking many chocolate raspberry cakes. When she was baking, she put in about a cup of extra chocolate, which is usually good, but in this case, it wasn’t. After a while, people were getting very ill.
On the evening of April 1, 2017, the news team heard of something very strange going on at Monroeville Schools. Mrs. Goodwin was baking many cakes for the upcoming Run Away Carnival. After about 30 minutes of having her cakes in the oven, Mrs. Goodwin, along with many other teachers, heard a big “BOOM.” Everyone went running, of course, to the kitchen. “What did they find?” people may ask. They found a big mess! There was flour on the floor, sugar all over the counters, and chocolate cake all over the oven.
“I tried so hard to make the cakes perfect,” Mrs. Goodwin said. “They just weren’t what I wanted them to be.”
“It was a mess. I walked into the kitchen and almost slipped on raspberries that were smeared all over the floor,” Mr. Rogers confirmed.
Some cakes were saved; however, she served them to her fellow staff members. She didn’t know what the consequence would be. Mrs. Goodwin served cake to Ms. Charville, Mr. Rogers, and Mrs. Pisano. The next day, all teachers were out sick; they said they had the flu. However, it wasn’t getting better. They went to the doctor, and all had a case of gastroenteritis, food poisoning. After the case had been treated, they told her what happened. She felt terrible for serving them cakes that blew up in the oven.
If you would like to buy a cake from Mrs. Goodwin, you can contact her at cakebaker@gmail.com!
Creatures of the Unknown
Toby T. & Hunter V.
One morning a man named Mr. Phil was watching TV, and he saw a weird creature looking at him through the window. He was scared and hid in his bedroom. After hiding in his bedroom for three hours, he came out and there were even more creatures trying to get in. He went to his basement for protection and turned on the news. He saw that there were signs of defects such as bumps and abnormal behavior in people and to stay indoors.
The news reporter was on the phone with Phil and he said “I went to my his giant safe where I was preparing for something like this.” In his safe he had many rifles, handguns, and even explosives. Mr. Phil loaded one of his guns and went back upstairs. When he arrived upstairs, there were many creatures looking at him. He made sure all the doors and windows were locked. Then he went to the roof and started to shoot the ones who were trying to get in his house. Phil had non lethal bullets to stun them just in case they could be saved, and he would not feel bad for murder.
Soon enough Mr. Phil’s yard was clear of anything trying to kill him. He went back downstairs and was watching the news to see what happened. The news said, “People were getting illnesses and they did not know what it was.” All of the citizens were told to stay indoors and to make sure all of their entry ways are locked. Mr. Phil was worried about the situation he was in, so he called one of his best friends named Douglas. When Douglas arrived, he talked to Mr. Phil about what had happened.
Mr. Phil stated, “There are many weird creatures out there; it's like a movie scene with all of those creatures.”
Douglas went and called 911 to see what they could do about it. The dispatcher stated that they should not go near any windows and to keep the doors locked. Also, that there were going to be SWAT teams going around making sure everyone is safe. Douglas and Phil stayed inside for three days before anything was done. Luckily, they had enough food to last them. In those three days, Phil and Douglas thought that they would never make it out and that the world was going to end. The disease was just a minor effect from some bad chicken people had eaten that had a disease.
As you can see, Mr. Phil was ready for this disaster.
