World Wars

The successful student will study the causes, the courses, and the implications of the World Wars, two of greatest and most impactful events of twentieth century. We will cover most of the geographic areas involved, the major diplomatic, political and military events, and some of the key figures of the wars.

This course will consider events 19th century to the present, specifically focusing on the causes and continuing outcomes of the World Wars, with an emphasis on the events of years 1914-1945. World War I was a momentous event that resulted not only in the death of millions of soldiers and civilians but also in the political collapse of European empires and the beginning of the rise of America as a world power.

The tumultuous years between the wars will be examined, specifically as they relate to the Versailles Treaty, the rise of extremist politics, and the Great Depression. Our study of World War II will bring to life for the students the greatest conflict in human history. This is not to be missed.

World Wars is not being offered during the 2021-2022 school year.
