The novel My Brother Sam is Dead takes place during the American Revolutionary War. It is written by two brothers, James and Christopher Collier. When Tim's brother, Sam, leaves college to fight in the war, he creates a big problem within the family.
If he had to choose, which side would Tim be on - the Patriot side with his brother, or the Tory side with his father?
There are many connections and references to what we studied in Social Studies in this novel. I hope you will enjoy it.
