During the final week of school in June 2016, a few classes made 'welcome' videos for our new Principal - Mr. Ketchum.
Here is a welcome from 4-K Music. They are playing C JAM BLUES and singing some 'custom' lyrics to welcome our new principal.
Here is a welcome from 3-N Music Class. They even 'rang the gong' at the beginning :)
1-H Music Class did some singing AND some kazoo-playing for their 'welcome' video:

Here is a welcome from K-C/S Music Class:
"We are love. We are one. We are how we treat each other when the day is done..." ("Nothing More" by The Alternate Routes.) The Minstrels Chorus just started learning this piece this week, but they loved it so much that we decided to make a quick video during rehearsal on March 3rd. Two students used iPads to capture video from each side of the room. Ms. Theisen used ScreenFlow software to combine the two videos.

For Thanksgiving 2015, my music students decided they wanted to surprise their families and teachers with a video of a Thanksgiving song. Most classes recorded "We Are Thankful," by Deborah Skydell of TheSingingClassroom.com. Some classes also added the school song or our 'hello' songs. Enjoy!

I decided to start a new tradition at ROYLE in October of 2015. I will help the music classes make 'VIDEO POSTCARDS' to share their favorite pieces with other classes (and with their parents!). This was inspired by Mrs. Dragotta's 2nd Grade Class when they wanted to share "5 Little Pumpkins" and our School Song with the kindergarten classes to help them prepare for the Kindergarten Halloween music 'share.' So, here is our very first Royle Video Postcard from 2-D to the Kindergarten classes:
Here is a short video postcard from 2-V to help the Kindergarten students prepare for their Halloween 'share.' In this video, they are sharing "Pumpkin, Pumpkin, On the Ground" and "I Can't Wait 'til it's Halloween." These are songs that they learned in Kindergarten and they still remember them!
This is a 5-minute postcard from Mrs. Martin's Kindergarten Class on October 8! You'll hear them sing these EIGHT songs:
Here's another postcard from Mrs. Cerabino's Kindergarten Class on October 9th! They are singing the same songs as Mrs. Martin's class just above this, but in a different order.
Sometimes, we play rhythmic 'games' in music class to help children keep a steady beat while working cooperatively. One of our FAVORITE SONGS toward the end of OCTOBER has been "DOWN BY THE RIVER." Here is Ms. Mirabella's class demonstrating how the game begins, as well as how it ends!!! October 26, 2015.
This is a postcard from K-B to the school of their favorite tune, "Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Round and Fat." This was recorded on Monday, Oct. 26th!
