Music in the Parks 2017

Dear HONORS CHORUS PARENTS and STUDENTS:

Our HONORS CHORUS trip to Lake Compounce is this weekend! On Saturday, June 3, 2017, all participating chorus students and chaperones will meet at ROYLE SCHOOL at 9:00AM.

We will be leaving ROYLE by COACH BUS at 9:20 AM. We will be performing at Bristol Eastern H.S., 632 King St., Bristol, CT 06010. (NOTE: THIS VENUE JUST CHANGED. IT WILL NO LONGER BE AT THE CHURCH.) . Our warmup time is 11:20 AM and our performance time is 11:40 AM. We will be at Lake Compounce around 12:30 PM. We will leave the amusement park at approximately 4:30PM and will arrive back at Royle School just after 5:30 PM.

All students and parents should dress for the day at the park. Each child will be given a WHITE Honors Chorus t-shirt, which he/she must wear on Saturday morning. Students should dress comfortably in shorts and sneakers. As per Board of Education rules, students are not allowed in the Water Park.

For those parents who have agreed to chaperone, we will need help with stage setup and a lot of help with supervision. Chaperones with groups of 3-5 children must accompany the groups at all times at the amusement park. There will be two scheduled check-in times to which you must strictly adhere. You will receive a packet of information and check-in times before we get on the bus. We will have MOVIES on the bus.

We suggest that students bring a bag lunch that can be eaten on the bus. We also recommend packing a snack for the ride home. Be sure to label it so that it’s not eaten in the morning. No food or drink can be carried into the park. Park food is quite expensive and the wait may be considerable by the time we get there. All coolers may be left on the bus. Your child may wish to bring extra money for incidentals or other game-type activities.

We will have medical supplies from the school nurses for those students who need medicine, EpiPens, etc. Those will be kept with Ms. Theisen and Ms. Brendli at all times in the amusement park pavilion.
