April 10, 2025 Focus: Exploring Opportunities for Educators and Students

Agenda

It's Field Trip day! Here is the schedule for today:

9:00-11:00 Our morning will consist of site visits/field trips for coaches to explore opportunities in Pittsburgh for educators and students. Site visits are as follow:

• CMU's Entertainment Technology Center

• Trade Institute of Pittsburgh

• Codejoy

• Fluxspace

11:00-12:30 - Travel and lunch

12:30-2:30 We will meet on Zoom to share our experiences with each other.

Join Zoom Meeting: https://aiu3.zoom.us/my/heather.moschetta or join with Meeting ID 412 394 4919 (work with your supervisor to determine if you can get on Zoom from home or must return to school). Note that we have a smaller room reserved if you want to come to the AIU for the Zoom meeting, rather than going back to school.

• 12:30-12:40 Full group, set expectations for the afternoon

• 12:40-1:30 Four breakout groups - develop a presentation of your group's learning

  • Tips for your presentation:

    • Use your choice of format for your presentation (Google Slides, Canva, etc.)

    • Plan on 5-10 minutes to share key takeaways from your field trip

    • Ideas for what you might consider including in your presentation

      • Pictures!

      • What teachers need to know about the opportunities at your field trip site

      • What was exciting/interesting for you

      • How to get more information

      • Anything else you want others to know
