Pre-recorded Videos in the Mobile App
Asynchronous videos do not play within the Digital Campus Mobile App. When you are viewing asynchronous videos in the Digital Campus Mobile App, they will automatically play in a separate browser (such as Safari or Google Chrome). Please be prepared to navigate out of the app to watch the video and understand that you will need to tap back into the Digital Campus Mobile App after you have finished the video if you’d like to continue with the module.
Lecture Slides open in a separate browser window
Similar to asynchronous videos, if you tap into Lecture Slides within the Digital Campus Mobile App, these will open in a separate browser window, and will not appear within the Digital Campus Mobile App.
Offline Lecture Downloads
Offline viewing is not included in the Digital Campus Mobile App. You must have connectivity to WiFi or mobile data in order to complete any work in the app. It is also not possible to download videos to view in offline mode.
Preview of lectures and video module length/video runtimes
These may not be available for all courses. Check in with your facilitators directly with questions regarding this feature.
Duration of Weekly Lectures
Students should attend office hours and reach out to their facilitators directly to see if they are able to provide guidelines for completion time of asynchronous material to assist in budgeting their time. Some course syllabi may include module durations. This is also a great opportunity to introduce yourself to your facilitators.
Dashboard personalization
This gives you the ability to organize your course information your way. You may refer to the email attachment entitled “Emerson Digital Campus - Asynchronous Platform” on how to customize your Dashboard.
The Digital Campus Mobile App
This is a tool for student use when accessing program information on the go. It is recommended that students access and complete their coursework on their Desktop rather than via the Mobile App. In order to utilize the Digital Campus Mobile App, students must be connected to WiFi or their device’s mobile data. Please utilize the email attachment entitled “Emerson Digital Campus - Mobile App” as a resource as you navigate the Digital Campus Mobile App.
Some students have noted seeing a permissions error when trying to access Zoom recordings in the Digital Campus. Fortunately, this is an easy fix. When this occurs, follow the process below to remedy the error:
Log out of Canvas
Log out of Zoom
Ensure that you are logging out of both via the Zoom app (if you have it on your system) and also through going to Zoom.us and logging out there.
Go to https://2uciam.onelogin.com/ to log in to the Digital Campus
Once logged in to the OneLogin homepage, click both the Zoom and Digital Campus tiles.
If you do not see the Zoom or Digital Campus tiles, use the search bar to find them.
Important Notes
Best practice is to always click both the Zoom and Digital Campus tile from the OneLogin page.
To increase the likelihood of resolving this error, please ensure that you are logged out of any other Zoom recordings except for those which are found in the Digital Campus.
