Registration for Spring semester begins November 4th for returning students and November 11th for new students.
To check the current status of your placement search, visit the Digital Campus to view the Placement Portal. Please review the Student Resource: Placement Portal User Guide for more step by step instructions.
Placements with a status of "Pending Confirmation", "Interviewing", or "Confirmed" may display additional context about the placement process, including if action is required by you, listed in the placement details section of the hyperlinked Placement Portal status. If action is required of you as a student, you will receive an email informing you of next steps as well.
The placement process involves a variety of stakeholders including Placement Specialists, Emerson Directors, Supervising SLPs, Site Administrators, and Students. We ask for your patience in the placement process as we work to fully vet the site before informing you of an approved placement site. Please remember that the placement process moves at a different pace for each student.
Your Placement Portal status may remain unchanged for several weeks due to the ongoing communication, documentation, and vetting process required of each placement. You may see the status of "Pending Confirmation" for a long period as this is the stage of the placement process where most of the vetting occurs. You will be notified via email once an approved placement is ready to move forward with an initial meeting / interview.
Once your Placement Portal status indicates a status of "Confirmed", the placement process has been completed by the Placement Team. Students should reconnect with their site to confirm an official start date, schedule, and complete any required clearances.
The Placement Team works closely with the Student Success Team to ensure students are able to successfully navigate the Placement Portal and feel supported prior to the start of placement.
Please use the guidelines below to ensure your questions are directed to the appropriate team for timely support. Note: Both the Student Success Team and Placement Teams are unable to provide site specific information on the placement search other than what is displayed in the Placement Portal. Students will receive site-specific information and guidance only after receiving approval from the Emerson Directors (CCC-SLPs).

Please see the note above acknowledging the Student Success Team will not be able to speak to specifics around the placement search. Their support is focused on placement readiness.

Placement drop-in hours are hosted multiple times per week. Days, times, and Zoom links can be found on the Canvas Calendar. Please ensure the Student Orientation course is checked off.
