Additionally, students should all be familiar with the content included in the CSD Guide to the Graduate Program. Here are editions relevant to our current students:
Emerson College is part of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (NC-SARA).
Emerson College’s online Communication Disorders program is currently authorized to operate only in certain states. See State Authorization Information for more information.

Course Attendance
Due to the intense and rigorous nature of the Speech@Emerson program, it is not possible to meet academic and clinical learning goals if students miss more than two consecutive weeks in a single applied graduate course semester or one week in a foundational course semester. An absence greater than the stated timeframes is considered a prolonged absence.
When a student anticipates or experiences a prolonged absence, students should notify their Student Success Advisor immediately. Prolonged absences have the potential to impact students’ overall plan of study and anticipated graduation date.
If a student does experience a prolonged absence, options include:
taking a Leave of Absence for the term
taking an Incomplete grade in academic coursework. (Because CD 612, 613, 614, 615 are associated with external contracts negotiated with non-Emerson sites, taking an Incomplete may not be an option.)
For more information about incomplete grades, leaves of absence & course withdrawal, please read the relevant sections of the graduate catalogue.
