Registration for Spring semester begins November 4th for returning students and November 11th for new students.
How can I prepare for the upcoming semester?
Refer to the Academic Calendar to ensure you are aware of all upcoming dates and deadlines.
Add Start & end of term, and other important dates to your personal calendar.
Registration and Course Access dates will be confirmed by the Speech@Emerson SSA team as they are subject to change
Take into account upcoming travel for Immersion in Boston, MA if appropriate for your curriculum.
When Course Access begins, it is highly recommended that you use this time to:
Confirm that you have access to all of the courses for which you registered.
Keep in mind that you will not receive access to any Mini B courses (CD620, CD628, CD629, CD630) until part way through the term.
Review each syllabus for important course-specific deadlines, group work, and assignments. Update your personal calendar.
Pay attention to unique requirements of each course. For example, some courses may require assignments to be submitted 48 hours prior to the start of Live Session where as others require assignments to be submitted only 24 hours prior to Live Session.
Note that most courses have asynchronous work due prior to the start of your first Live Session. Make a plan for completing this work before the first day of the semester when Live Sessions begin.
Visit Time Management & Study Strategies section to assess which will work best for you during the upcoming semester.
Note that each class may require different strategies and approaches.
Consider Modules within each course in the Digital Campus such as Toolkit or Helpful Resources that will contain supporting content.
Access your Placement Portal via the Digital Campus. This can be found by clicking on the upside down teardrop on the left hand navigation column. Before the semester begins you may want to:
Check on the status of your upcoming placement
Confirm that your Preferred Placement Address is correct. You may access the Relocation Form from the Placement Portal.
Access & submit Referral and Interest Forms.
Brainstorm what your support system will look like in the upcoming semester. Below are examples of resources for you to consider:
Course Facilitator office hours
Family, friends, mentors and any other supportive individuals
