Kofi Annan, the former UN Secretary General

I find electric cars very interesting ...

but how do you ensure that the new technology is also available to 3rd world, so they don't repeat mistakes of past? How do they get electric car?

Or are they going to get the old polluting cars,

he wondered. "Or do you plan to help them transition to the new technology?"

The question remained unanswered.

I think Annan has a good point. But the fact that the third world is forgotten on this issue is not true. If you take a minute to listen to the speech of the European leaders or the European Commission, you would be able to see that help third world country's with new technology's is a big part of Europe's plan to address climate change.

Electric cars aren't going to get cheap enough for the developed world either. Claim they are all you like, but there's nothing people are *willing to buy* for the cost most people are able to pay for a car.
