Christ is Returning Soon, Are You Ready?

There is something going to happen that is more important than what you are going to watch on telly tonight or the next movie you are going to see, or updating your social networking site, about what you are going to do, or have done, in you social life.
I am talking about the return of Christ. A much bigger event than anything that is happening in your life at the moment. You may have heard about His return, but are you expecting His return? Do you think His return is close? How offend do you think about it?
These days most people are too caught up in there own lives to care about the return of Christ. Most of the world is not expecting His return at all. This includes most Christians who go about their daily lives, like everyone else, expect for going to church. While a lot of Christians may have heard about the return of Christ, they carry on as if it is not going to happen, in their life time. They are not expecting His return, and they will be in for a real surprise when it happens, the day of his return arriving on them unexpectedly.
Are you ready for His return? You could point out to me that He has not return for almost 2000 years. That is true, but you always have to be ready for His return. Even soon after He left, believers were not to be caught up in the ways of the world, and were to be ready for His return at any moment.
1Thessalonians 5:4-7 Now you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day may be overtaking you as a thief, for you are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of the darkness. Consequently, then, we may not be drowsing, even as the rest, but we may be watching and be sober." For those who are drowsing are drowsing at night, and those who are drunk are drunk at night." {CLV}
The brethren were not in darkness, that the Day of the Lord could be overtaking them. If they were in darkness the day world be overtaking them, it would came as a surprise, just like you would be surprise by a thief. Not that the day would come as a secret event. The brethren were to be watching and be sober. The day was not to come in their lifetimes, but they still meant to watch and be sober.
One of the main points of the virgins parable {Matthew 25:1-13}, is that those who are ready, go with the Lord, those who are not, do not. The virgins that are ready, representing the bride, the chosen, members of the body of Christ, go with the bridegroom, Christ. The virgins that are not ready, those who are called, but not chosen, those who are not ready, those who are caught up in the ways of the world, do not go. Those that head back into the darkness from where they came.
Now almost 2000 years after His ascending to heaven, His return is now close at hand. Have you noticed the rapid increase in Technology? For it has greatly increased over the last 150 years. TV’s, radios, cars, trucks, planes, phones, computers, cell phones, internet, all invent in the last 150 years.
Along with the technology increase there has been a rapid decline in moral values. Over the last 50 years onscreen violence nudity and sex has increased. This increase has also happen with computer games, and has spread to the internet. In the last couple of decades there has been a real push for homosexual rights, including marriage, and they are more onscreen these days.
The last hundred and fifty years has also seen the worse, and bloodiest armed conflicts. With two world wars and many other armed conflicts. There has been a rapid increase in the advancement of weapons.
There has also been a rapidly increased in the population, during this time. In fact the population in 1850 was just over 1 billion people, however by October 1999 AD there was over 6 billion people, that is 5 billion increase in just 150 years. However it is not a straight lined increase, but has actual been going up faster and faster.
Deforestation is going on unchecked. We live in the throw away society, out of sight out of mind. Rivers and waterways and oceans are being polluted.
Loads of people believe that that everything just come about somehow, that there is no god at all. This is large based on the belief in evolution, I say it is a belief because it is unproven, it is not a fact and is actually untrue. It is in fact a scientific impossibility. With this belief they do away with the need for a god, what better way to turn people away from God. It is a relatively new belief, unknown before the late 18 century.
Soon the Open Door Ministry will begin. The gospel of the kingdom is to go to the nations. This will be the time when the chosen spread the gospel to the nations, just before Christ returns. There will be strong opposition to this gospel as Satan will have raised his spiritual army to stop the gospel going out.
Are you ready for Christ’s return, or are you going about like it is not going to happen in your life time, if ever. If you are not ready His return will surprise you. Be ready, Be watching, be sober, so that you are not surprise, so that the day does not overtake you like a thief.
