Once Saved Always Saved

By Mark Farquharson

Some people tech that, if after you are saved, you sin, then you need to pray again, because you have just lost your salvation. They teach that it is like a switch, every time you sin, you lose your salvation and you need to pray again. Once you have prayed again, then you gain back your salvation. Your salvation goes on and off, all the time. This makes people worried that they have lost there salvation. People can end up worrying that when they die, they will have just lost their salvation.

The churches who teach this are complete wrong, you can not lose your salvation at anytime. Once you have been saved, you are always saved no matter what you do wrong. It is not based on you not committing anymore sins in your whole life, this is impossible. After you are saved, you will continue to commit sins. This is because you have not got your new immortal and incorruptible body.

Romans 5:20 Yet law came in by the way, that the offense should be increasing. Yet where sin increases, grace superexceeds,

5:21 that, even as Sin reigns in death, thus Grace also should be reigning through righteousness, for life eonian, through Jesus Christ, our Lord." {CLV}

Those who are saved are covered by grace, and you can not lose this grace. Where sin increases, grace superexceeds, so that if you are saved, you still have the promise of life eonian in the future eons.

John 10:26 But you are not believing, seeing that you are not of My sheep, according as I said to you.

27 "My sheep are hearing My voice, and I know them, and they are following Me.

28 And I am giving them life eonian, and they should by no means be perishing for the eon, and no one shall be snatching them out of My hand.

29 My Father, Who has given them to Me, is greater than all, and no one is able to be snatching them out of My Father's hand.

30 I and the Father, We are one." {CLV}

If you are saved, you are one of Christ’s sheep. Christ is the shepherd of the sheep, that is true Believers. The sheep can not be snatch out of Christ’s hand, by anybody including Satan.

Once you are saved you are in Christ’s hand, and can not be snatch out. There is no way to lose your salvation.

The question then is, are you saved? Many believe incorrectly that they are saved, when they are not. I use to think I was saved, but I was not saved. I definitely am saved now, but how do you know? If you believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins, but not just your sins, but the sins of the whole world, that he is the saviour of the whole world, not just those who believe, then you are most likely saved. If you don’t believe that Jesus Christ die for the sins of the whole world, it does not mean that your not saved. You only have to believe that Christ is your saviour.

However most Christians are not true believers, most are false believers. They are blind to the fact that they are false believers. They believe incorrectly that they choose to be saved. That it was their choice to be saved or not to be saved. Which makes them the saviour of themselves, not Christ. That is totally incorrect, you can not save yourself.
