Willard Bay South

½ hr T$

This is a much better location than the north Willard Bay campground as far as the highway noise goes and space to spread out. It is smaller and less used, which makes it more attractive for scouts. The price is high at $25 per site for up to 8 people, plus $13 for additional vehicles, but the location is convenient. They are open year-round, but you can't and don't need to make reservations in the winter.

We camped there 01/11/19 and were the only people there. The scouts had fun walking on the ice and playing night games. It is self pay in the winter and no one came to check that we had paid, but someone did close the gate and night and opened it in the morning.

You may want to make reservations in the summer. Sometimes it is reserved by an organization. See http://www.utah.com/stateparks/willard_bay.htm or http://stateparks.utah.gov/parks/willard-bay for more information.

To get there head north on I15 and take exit 351 and turn left and take a right on 4000 N across from Smith and Edwards and another right on 2000 West. You may also go right off of I15 and go north on highway 89 to 8700 South. But there isn't as much as a street sign coming from this direction indicating where to turn and you will probably miss it and have to do a U-turn, but it is just past Pettingal's fruit stand.
