Holbrook Canyon

20 min + ½ hour hike

This is a nice canyon with a creek running down it. There are several small places to camp for about 5 or 6 people each. This is better in the late summer or fall or you may get wet crossing the creek. The trailhead is just south of the southeast corner of the Bountiful Temple on the east side of the road. There is a parking lot there with restrooms and a sign indicating Holbrook Canyon. You hike down the trail on the southwest corner of the parking lot through the catch basin. There are about 6 or so stream crossings. Most of them have little bridges. The first one is about 1/4 mile up. Follow the trail on the left, before you get to the creek or you may miss the first bridge. Just across the stream is somewhat of a campsite, but not very level. Further up, the trail goes up the hill on the left side and then you come down by the creek again. There is small campsite there, but there are two tents already there with logs in them to keep them from blowing away. Perhaps some homeless people lived there. Further up the trail are three good places for camping. They are all on the right side of the trail. The last one is about a mile from the trail head. A little ways past there the trail gets kind of bad.
