Settlement Canyon

1 hr $

This is a nice little camping area in Tooele that is open April 1st through October 31st. There are a few picnic tables scattered around a grassy area with trees where you can camp, but not really individual sites. There are also a couple areas to camp without picnic tables, one up the hill to the right as you enter the area. I didn't notice any water spigots or restrooms, but there is a latrine by the entrance. There is also lake nearby where you can fish called Settlement Canyon Reservoir. See https://deseretpeakcomplex.com/parks-and-rec/ or call 435-882-5600 for more information or reservations.

for more information and phone numbers.

The cost to camp is $15 per vehicle and there is an entrance station that closes at dusk or 7:00. You can't get in after that with a vehicle, but can get out over a one-way tire ripper. You have to pay $3 just to drive in and drive out, if not staying overnight.

To get there, go west on I80 and take exit 99 and head south on highway 36. Go through Toole to about 800 South and turn left on Settlement Canyon Road or where a sign says Camp Wapiti. Camp Wapiti is an Elks camp further up the canyon from the camping area.
