Burraston Ponds

1½ T

NOTE: I understand that the DWR closed this location for camping in 2015. Well maybe a nice place for swimming or kayaking anyway.

This is (was) a nice little place to camp by a several good sized ponds. There are a few sites with picnic tables and fire pits, but I think that you can camp about anywhere. The pond water is pretty clear so some people even scuba dive here. It is a nice place to canoe and fish. There are a lot of places to camp all around the pond. These photos are in March and it wood look a lot nicer in the summer. There are a couple rope swings around the last pond on the left that can make for fun summer outing. I'm don't know how it is in the winter, but may need to walk in. Beware, the rope swing is flooded with teenagers & college students on warm Friday evenings.

This site is a few miles southwest of Mona and north of Nephi. Head south on I15 and take the Mona exit #233 and head west one mile and turn left on main street and head south for 1.7 miles and turn right. There isn't a good sign at the turn but one just before it saying to take the next right. Head west a half a mile on this road and cross over the railroad tracks.
