East Canyon

This is a great winter camping spot. It is filled with boaters and families the rest of the year. It is a state campground and open year round. There are two campgrounds, Dixie Creek on the east side and Big Rock at the south end. The camping fees are $20 and $12. Big Rock is less since there are no electricty or water hookups. There is a good tubing hill by the Dixie Creek campground and usually you can ice fish. Our district usually has thier annual Klondike campout at Dixie Creek. You can wrap the little shelters with tarps if it is too cold or windy.

I'm not sure what their drive-in policy is in the winter, but I would suggest making rervations or calling them, since there may be a Klondike or something going on. Make reservations at http://stateparks.utah.gov/reservations . To get there, head east on I84 and take the Morgan (103)exit and turn right, going through Moran staying on State Street (highway 66) all the way up. Or take the Hennifer (112) Exit and turn right on East Canyon Road (highway 65). Or if you are south of Centerville head up I80 in SLC to exit 134 and turn left onto highway 65.
